Tell me about your role at HUB24 Group? What do you do?
My role is Privacy & Data Risk Manager, and I work across HUB24 Group. My day to day involves providing privacy-related advice, assessing risk, developing policies and guidance, and supporting the business to build good privacy and data practices into their products, services and processes.
In your opinion what makes HUB24 Group a great place to work?
For me, it’s the people. It’s great to work with colleagues who are passionate about what they do and truly believe in it. I also value the flexibility. Living more than an hour outside the city, being able to balance my work and personal life is something I truly appreciate.
Which one of our group values resonates with you the most and why?
‘Deliver with Integrity’, given integrity and ethics are a core and integral part of privacy. Delivering with integrity means we always do the right thing, handle personal information in the right way and for the right reasons, protect it to the best of our abilities, and uphold the trust and confidence of everyone we deal with.
What is your ‘superpower’ and how to you use this in everyday life?
The uncanny ability to always wake up a minute or two before my alarm is set to go off. This has saved me on more than one occasion when I have forgotten to set an alarm the night before an early morning flight.
If there was one piece of career advice you could give someone, what would that be?
If you’re not fulfilled in what you do, don’t be afraid to try something completely different, and always remember that when you’re out of your depth, that is usually when you’ll learn and grow the most.
