Tell me about your role at HUB24? What do you do?
I’m a State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, having recently been promoted from my previous position as a Business Development Manager. I form an integral part of the VIC/TAS Distribution Team, focussed on promoting HUB24’s offerings to the Financial Adviser market in those regions and ensuring unparalleled experiences for existing partner clients.
What has surprised you the most about the working culture at HUB24?
How strong and resilient it is. It’s a testament to the strength of HUB24’s culture that it has remained so strong and consistent during the six years I have been with the company. The business has seen a lot of change in that time, but the culture continues to be the key reason why HUB24 is a great place to work.
What is your ‘superpower’ and how do you use this in everyday life?
Keeping the glass half full: I try to find a positive spin in all situations. I remember as a kid during a Melbourne summer in the early 80s, it was a stinking hot 46-degree day fuelled by a 90km northerly wind. Whilst most people were moaning with the stifling conditions, my Mum said, “What a wonderful day to do the washing!” Mum’s positive mindset has definitely stuck with me.
If there was one piece of career advice you could give someone, what would that be?
The best advice I received was “Do not talk BS. It will always come back to bite you.” This simple yet profound piece of wisdom reminds us of the importance of honesty and integrity in both personal and professional endeavours.
